Libraries

Our library membership is composed of a variety of classifications in district libraries across the state, both supervisory and non-supervisory, including Branch Supervisors, Librarians, Network Specialists, Library Assistants, Aides, Pages, and Public TV Technician Specialists, among others. Our library members provide the public with access to an expanded venue of information and entertainment via a large range of multi-media options (books, videos, CDs, DVDs, books on tape, etc.) through both their own collections and "lending libraries," and public television. In addition, they operate library computer centers where the public is provided with computer accessibility and computer training.Library

As libraries have evolved from lending books to providing the public with an expanded array of multi-media alternatives, we have successfully addressed increased challenges of evolving job duties and responsibilities, cross training, and retaining full-time positions as library boards attempt to decrease expenditures by utilizing more part-time employees.
