Courts
We represent a wide variety of professional workers in Circuit, District, Probate, and Family Courts across the state including Friend of the Court employees, Probate and Juvenile Registrars, Court Administrators, and a variety of Clerical/Technical Support classifications.
Representing court employees brings with it a new challenge.
Judges are recognized in the state of Michigan as co-employers along with the county administration. The judge has the right to negotiate all terms of employment except wages and benefits. The financial aspect of negotiations falls under the jurisdiction of the county administrator.
Judges are very protective of their contractual jurisdictional rights, and only a strong political influence by your bargaining representative will sway most judges to negotiate fair and equitable agreements on behalf of their employees.
In representing court employees, we conduct extensive wage and benefit surveys and classification studies that would be used as the basis of our negotiations with your employer(s).
